Our Solution:
Garage door spring replacement is always a dangerous activity. When there’s already a broken spring to deal with, that only makes it worse thanks to the uneven torsion and the possibility of compressed fragments. We took everything breakable out of the garage and eased both the springs loose very slowly. After ensuring everything was slack, we removed the caps and changed out the springs for recompressing.
